A First for Kids’ Korner 2013
The Whitman Baltimore Expo’s Kids’ Korner had a first at the summer show, June 20–23, 2013. Young numismatist Ezra searched through hundreds of Lincoln cents, filling a Whitman folder with all the 1941–1974 dates and mintmarks! Ezra can’t wait to share his prized collection with his classmates when school starts this fall.
Patti Finner and Brenda Sponsky run the Kids’ Korner, introducing hundreds of children to coin collecting each year. They also hold several coin-collecting merit-badge clinics for the Boy Scouts of America.
Their volunteerism, along with support via donations from our dealers, makes this enterprise possible and is greatly appreciated. Together we are planting seeds, hopefully ensuring a growing hobby community into the 21st century and beyond.
